I see, but I do not feel.

I hear, but words can not touch me.

I am invincible, for surely feeling nothing is better than feeling sorrow.

The anaesthesia of my mind frees me from mental drudgery.
And yet, is it not tragic,

That to protect itself, my mind

Has chosen not to feel

And instead I am shut off.
I watch as people go about

Their daily lives. Jealous of

Their easy emotion.

Still terrified of letting

The feelings in.

For surely

Before Happiness

Must come Heartbreak.
